VC Connect for Wellbeing is owned and delivered by Voluntary Action Sheffield, as part of their VC Connect range of services.
The platform has been co-designed with the following organisations:
- Community 360 (formerly Colchester CVS)
- Chelmsford Centre Supporting Voluntary Action
- VAC (Voluntary Action Calderdale)
VAS continues to work with these partners to consult, design, and further develop the service to be an effective tool to support social prescribing projects. This collaborative approach allows users who are actively involved in delivering successful social prescribing projects, sharing their experiences, advising on best practice principles and being involved in our consultations for the future development of the system.
Each partner has brought their own area of expertise and contributed ideas, and we continue to work together to identify and plan future developments.
Voluntary Action Sheffield (VAS)
VAS has a strong reputation for IT expertise and innovative solutions, delivering VC Connect services to customers around the country for more than 10 years. The VC Connect team manages the platform and directly supports all customers, advising on the technical aspects and how to use technology to provide services online. The VC Connect team also leads on the development of this platform, consulting with all customers and stakeholders.
Community 360 and Chelmsford Centre Supporting Voluntary Action
In North East Essex, Community 360 (formerly Colchester CVS) has been operating a social prescribing service “My Social Prescription“ since January 2013. For more than two years, the team have been working to link individuals with local groups, and the introduction of their Connect Well Essex site allowed the scheme to be extended to the Braintree, Chelmsford and Maldon areas too.
During 2017, the self-referral option was also introduced to their site, allowing individuals to refer themselves directly into local services.
Staff from both organisations have been integral to the design and functionality of VC Connect for Wellbeing, and have contributed a huge amount of knowledge, expertise and advice, particularly around the referral tool and use of data.
Quality For Health is an innovative, unique, quality assurance system for the VCSE, developed by VAC and endorsed by Calderdale CCG. The system measures outcomes-based evidence across three levels and is a vital tool in supporting the VCSE to deliver local health services for local communities.
VAC originally advised on how VC Connect for Wellbeing can incorporate their Quality for Health system (and others) to highlight those services that have achieved quality standards.
